How to get Google Street View inside your business

Google Street View is not limited to outdoor streets. Thousands of businesses worldwide have professional 360° interior panoramas available on Google Maps. Here is how to get yours.

What is a Google Street View interior tour?

An interior tour is a series of connected 360° panoramic photographs that allow online visitors to virtually walk through your business. These panoramas appear on your Google Business Profile, in Google Maps, and can be embedded on your website using WP Google Street View.

Think of it as giving every potential customer the ability to step inside your door before they leave their home.

Who takes the photos?

Google does not photograph interiors directly. Instead, they certify independent photographers through the Google Trusted Photographer program (also called Google Street View Trusted). These are professional photographers trained to use specialized 360° cameras and Google's publishing tools.

How to find a Trusted Photographer

  1. Visit google.com/streetview/contacts-tools
  2. Enter your location to find certified photographers near you
  3. Contact several for quotes — prices typically range from $200 to $500 depending on your space size
  4. Some photographers also list on Google Maps itself — search for "Google Trusted Photographer" in your city

What to expect during the shoot

Before the shoot

  • Clean and organize your space thoroughly. Every detail is captured in 360°.
  • Arrange furniture and displays as you want them to appear permanently online.
  • Brief your staff — some photographers prefer an empty space, others shoot during normal operations.
  • Check lighting — natural light combined with even interior lighting produces the best results.

During the shoot

The photographer uses a specialized 360° camera (typically a Ricoh Theta, Insta360, or professional multi-lens rig) mounted on a tripod. They capture panoramas at regular intervals throughout your space, typically every 3-5 meters.

A typical shoot for a small business (restaurant, salon, retail store) takes 30 to 90 minutes. Larger spaces (hotels, event venues, showrooms) may take several hours.

After the shoot

The photographer processes the images, stitches the panoramas, and uploads them to Google. Publication typically takes 1-2 weeks. Once live, the interior tour appears on your Google Business Profile and is available for embedding.

How much does it cost?

Business sizeTypical costNumber of panoramas
Small (salon, cafe, boutique)$200–$30010–20
Medium (restaurant, retail store)$300–$50020–40
Large (hotel, event venue, showroom)$500–$1 50040–100+

This is a one-time cost. The panoramas remain on Google indefinitely and can be updated by hiring a photographer again if your space changes significantly.

Embedding the tour on your website

Once the interior tour is published on Google, embedding it with WP Google Street View is straightforward:

  1. Find your business on Google Maps
  2. Note the exact coordinates where the interior tour begins
  3. In WP Google Street View, create a new map entry with those coordinates
  4. Select Google Street View as the map type
  5. The editor will load the interior panorama — adjust the heading to start at the ideal viewpoint
  6. Publish and embed with the shortcode

Industries that benefit most

Interior tours deliver the highest ROI for businesses where customers care about the physical environment: restaurants, hotels, spas, dental offices, fitness centers, wedding venues, car dealerships, retail stores, and real estate showrooms.
